Sponsored by the University of Massachusetts Medical School's ADA Diabetes Center of Excellence, this is an excellent, full length textbook about diabetes. Spanish and Hebrew translations are also available.
 
[bullet] Juvenile Diabetes Foundation International (JDF) / The Diabetes Research Foundation [added 10/13/00]
JDF claims to be the world’s leading nonprofit, nongovernmental funder of diabetes research. Founded in 1970 by parents of children with diabetes, its mission is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. Its web site includes basic fact sheets and research news, as well as information about the organization.
[bullet] The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (National Institute of Health)[starred entry]
This government site offers a wealth of informational and educational materials for patients, including easy-to-read and Spanish language publications. Topics covered include digestive, endocrine, metabolic, kidney, urologic & hematologic diseases, diabetes, nutrition, and obesity. Other sections cover research, funding, patient recruitment, and related government resources.
