- Children
with lissencephaly are born with a smooth (rather than convoluted)
brain surface. They have mental retardation, poor movement control,
and other developmental disabilities. Syndromes associated with
lissencephaly include isolated lissencephaly sequence (ILS),
Miller-Dieker syndrome (MDS), and Walker-Warburg syndrome (WWS).
