disability travel sites. Please see the related
subjects below for accessible travel guides and transportation
information. Please
note that we do not link to commercial sites such as travel agencies
or tour groups for people with disabilities unless they also

a trip? Be sure to visit this web site first. Search its extensive
database by location for airport access, travel agency info,
cruise info, accommodations, transportation, adventures, access
guides and resources, and more. Also available: relay and voice
phone numbers, specialized travel agents, forums, bulletin board,
and newsletter.

Vacation Home Exchange for People with Disabilities
- This free
online service from the Institute on Independent Living matches
people with disabilities who want to exchange their homes for
vacations.

- Breathin' Easy:
A Guide for Travelers with Pulmonary Disabilities
- Everything
you ever wanted to know about traveling with oxygen.

- dialysisfinder.com
- A free service
designed to help you locate dialysis units near where you live,
or when travelling, near where you are going. Enter an address
and a map pops up with nearby dialysis units. The concept is
great, but the implementation is not comprehensive: we struck
out totally with Boston, Cleveland, New York, and Rome. Worth
a shot, especially if the database improves.

Accessible Travel Newsletter
- The publishers
of the newsletter by the same name offer a nicely organized set
of links about destinations, transportation, lodging, recreation,
and more.

- A cool online
travel magazine that includes disability travel tips, news, deals,
and more.

Access; Disabled Travel Network
- Read the
latest feature story, then check out the links to reader comments,
travel books, travel archives, trip tips and resources.

- MossRehab ResourceNet:
Accessible Travel
- An excellent
resource for travel tips and information about travel agencies,
state Tourism Offices, transportation, automobile and van vental
agencies, driving with a disability, travel alerts, travel resources
and publications, mailing lists, and related topics.

- SATH (Society for Advancement of
Travel for the Handicapped)
- SATH is
a nonprofit organization that promotes "awareness, respect
and accessibility for disabled and mature travelers and EMPLOYMENT
for the disabled in the tourism industry." Its web site
includes information about the organization and sample articles
from its magazine. Travel information and resource sections were
under construction when we last checked on 2/6/2000.
