Sponsored by the University of Massachusetts Medical School’s ADA Diabetes Center of Excellence, this is an excellent, full length textbook about diabetes. Spanish and Hebrew translations are also available.
Juvenile Diabetes Foundation International (JDF) / The Diabetes Research Foundation [added 10/13/00]
JDF claims to be the world’s leading nonprofit, nongovernmental funder of diabetes research. Founded in 1970 by parents of children with diabetes, its mission is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. Its web site includes basic fact sheets and research news, as well as information about the organization.
The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (National Institute of Health)
This government site offers a wealth of informational and educational materials for patients, including easy-to-read and Spanish language publications. Topics covered include digestive, endocrine, metabolic, kidney, urologic & hematologic diseases, diabetes, nutrition, and obesity.
