Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common disorder of the intestines. It can cause crampy pain, gassiness, bloating, and changes in bowel habits. Though it can be very uncomfortable and even disabling, IBS is not an inflammatory disorder and should not be confused with colitis, mucous colitis, spastic colon, spastic bowel, functional bowel disease, and other serious inflammatory conditions.
